Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of prohibited practices and monstrous changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Transformations
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana together with numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla subtly included a quest that obviously echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
