JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution is not entirely an brand-new film. Instead, the newest movie from the Jujutsu Kaisen supernatural series is a compilation of the show's sophomore season merged with the opening installments of its third season, which begins the Culling Games arc from the original manga. It was claimed that the artists were facing crunch conditions to the degree, and the final version that premiered at the time was not fully polished and allegedly not what the animators initially intended.

Fans knew about the issues behind the scenes, which made them value what they saw even more. People anxiously checked to see if the disc version, released on March 18, would add any additional scenes to the sequence or to see if it was refined somewhat, and were thrilled to see exactly that, alongside color corrections, smoother movement, and revised visual style.
